A Century of Care.
A Future of Hope.
For nearly 100 years, UPMC Hanover has been honored to serve our community. Every life we touch, every family we support, and every child we heal is a reminder that healthcare is about more than medicine. It is about people, compassion, and the unwavering commitment to meet the needs of every individual who walks through our doors.
As we celebrate our centennial, we invite you to join us in shaping the next 100 years of care through three critical initiatives that will strengthen our hospital and transform lives.
Workforce Development and Training
Investing in the People Who Care for Us
Every moment of healing begins with a caregiver. Our 1,100 employees, including 360 extraordinary nursing professionals, are the heart of UPMC Hanover. Their dedication has earned national and state recognition in 2025, reflecting the highest standards of excellence in care.
To honor and support our staff, we are creating the UPMC Hanover Education Center. This dedicated space on campus will allow nurses and other patient-facing staff to complete training and certification locally, removing barriers for those with transportation or family responsibilities. The center will include modern classrooms, simulation rooms, and training technology that prepares our staff for any situation.
This initiative also allows our experienced caregivers to become mentors and educators, shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals who will continue our century-long tradition of excellence. Your support makes this possible.

Pediatric Care Enhancement and Family Support
Caring for Children, Supporting Families, Strengthening Futures
Every child deserves a safe, comforting, and welcoming environment when they need care. As one of only two hospitals in Central Pennsylvania with a dedicated pediatric unit, UPMC Hanover is committed to meeting the unique needs of our youngest patients.
Our new Pediatric Pod within the Maternity Department provides specialized spaces, including a negative pressure room and a shared nurse’s station that allows staff to be cross trained for both maternity and pediatric care. With donor support, we can transform these spaces into vibrant, child-friendly environments that include interactive technology, virtual reality experiences, and playful design to ease anxiety and inspire healing.
Beyond the hospital, our Pediatric Rehabilitation Center helps children with special needs continue therapy at home. Donations provide essential equipment such as adaptive utensils, compression clothing, and specialized mobility tools. Your support ensures children have the tools they need to grow, learn, and thrive.

Patient Focused Needs to Improve Health & Wellbeing
Removing Barriers. Restoring Stability. Changing Lives.
At UPMC Hanover, we believe every person deserves the chance to heal, regardless of financial circumstances. Through our Social Services Team, we help patients overcome obstacles that might otherwise prevent them from achieving health and stability.
From providing formula to new mothers, groceries to oncology patients, transportation to essential appointments, or medication to those who are uninsured, these interventions are small gestures with life-changing impact. They restore dignity, reduce stress, and give patients the strength to continue treatment and rebuild their lives.
Supporting this pillar ensures that no one is left behind. Your generosity provides immediate relief and long-term hope for families facing unexpected challenges.

Your Support Makes a Difference
These three pillars, workforce development, pediatric care, and patient-focused support, are the foundation of our centennial campaign and the next century of care at UPMC Hanover. Together, we can strengthen our caregivers, uplift our children, and ensure that every patient in our community has what they need to heal and thrive.
